Wags and Whiskers Rescue routinely focuses on cats and dogs, although we have also rescued other species. As our goal is to reduce the euthanasia rates at the public animal shelters, our animals are taken from shelters throughout California as they run out of time or space. With limited staff and funding in public shelters we have taken in animals that are too young, too old, too ill or injured to be cared for in the shelter environment. We also take animals with behavioral issues that are not doing well in a shelter environment. As a rescue we are able to allow the animals the time they need to become adoptable.
